Today, many people work from home on a regular or occasional basis. The reasons can be numerous, starting with health problems, long journeys, maternity, etc. The belief that an employee needs to be in the office to be effective is now progressively evolving, with the benefits of working at home in abundance. However, for some people, especially if you just started working from home, things can get a bit difficult. Here are some things you can do to organize your "home office".

A Constant Office Space

Set up a room (or part of a room) while your office can help you create a mood and motivation that might otherwise be lacking when you're out of the office. Attach a table, an ergonomic chair (yes, it's an investment you will not regret if you work regularly at home), and other essentials you may need for the job, such as a charging station for your computer or mobile phone in the vicinity. Stay in this place as best you can while working and away when you're not. You can always visit this area when you're not working, but make sure it's not near the bed. in which you sleep. In small houses, this can be difficult to organize, but try to set up your workplace in a different room than your bedroom. This is not because you may accidentally climb onto your bed and sleep during working hours, but because your quality of sleep at night may be affected by the presence of your work items.

Air Quality

When you stay indoors for most of the day, it is important to ensure adequate ventilation and good air quality. If you live in an area of low pollution, keep your windows open at all times so that fresh air stimulates your brain and improves your efficiency. If unfortunately, you live in an area where the outside air is horrible, an air purifier is recommended. Remember, your health is of the utmost importance, no matter where you work.


Although exercise is a mandate for everyone, it is even more crucial for people who work from home. When you're in the office, you can take frequent breaks in the cafeteria or at a roadside coffee/tea, but when you're at home, these breaks are eliminated from your routine. Therefore, it is of utmost importance to exercise regularly. Choose what suits you - yoga, aerobics, bodybuilding, cardio, but be regular and diligent about it.

Venture Out

Make sure to leave the house at least ten or fifteen minutes each working day. You can either do a quick race, like going to the ATM, buying dry cleaning, buying a dinner, etc., or you can at least go for a walk in your neighborhood. Going out once a day and seeing others on the road helps your brain relax, because, after all, we are all social beings.

Do Not Overwork

Many people, especially at the beginning, tend to feel guilty about not working in the office. They feel they are not working enough or missing something. Some people get even worse because others who go to the office regularly tend to point fingers and condemn those who work at home. Snide comments such as "Oh, what do you know about the hectic traffic we're going through," or "You work from home, that means you have a lot of time," to "I do not think people who work at home doing work ", are very often heard. Do not get bogged down by such things. Just because you work from home does not mean you have to work longer. Set your working hours as if you were in power and stick to them.

With the means mentioned above, working from home can be a real pleasure in the midst of chaos.
